Modern industrial construction requires functional support structures which do not only support the building envelope and floor levels but also assume tasks in production technology, such as accommodation of conveyor belts, crane runways, piping, catwalks and production control stations. Fast-changing demand and production technology require flexible, readily convertible building structures which are open to future change of use.
